After reviewing the current PLA Strategic Plan, please tell us:
Describe the current work of this committee and how it supports our strategic goals. Include work accomplished, decisions made, and any recommended follow-up actions.
The leadership committee is working towards the goals of presenting a breakout session at Annual and to do at least one webinar before our term is over. An article for Public Libraries is also an option.
The topic of the webinar would most likely be on how to find and take advantage of leadership opportunities in ALA. We would seek out current and past ALA leaders to share their stories and insights.
The topics of the ALA breakout session and article are still under consideration.
Do you see opportunities to better align committee work with those goals?
The committee would like to have all members involved in the development and presentation of the various projects. It would be nice to have some members who are not use to presenting to step up and have an opportunity to grow in a public speaking role.

Are there other PLA or ALA committees whose partnership and collaboration would accelerate meeting PLA strategic goals?
We could work with the 2025 Annual committee on our potential conference breakout session. We could also work with the Public Libraries Advisory group for an article.
Is there anything else about your committee experience you’d like to share?
The first meeting was well attended. The second meeting only had three participants. We think there was an issue in connecting to the meeting and perhaps people not marking the meeting on their calendars. Another meeting is scheduled for the new year.
